Robot Price Index
Of the 32 robot models RobotCosts has published, 6 (18.8%) state a purchase price a buyer can act on. The rest sell by quote, publish only a recurring rate, or disclose nothing. This page measures that gap; it does not fill it.
Denominator: 32 published models
How many robots publish a price
Every published record resolves to exactly one state, so these counts sum to the population and each share uses the same denominator.
| Price state | Models | Share of 32 | What it means |
|---|---|---|---|
| Public purchase price | 6 | 18.8% | A seller states a one-time price for a new unit that a buyer can act on. |
| Sold by quote | 25 | 78.1% | The product is public; the price is not. The seller directs buyers to a quotation. |
| No usable public amount | 1 | 3.1% | Nothing publishable was observed, and the record says so rather than guessing. |

What the published prices are
Based on 6 of 32 tracked models with a publicly stated one-time purchase price for a new unit in USD. Lease, quote-only, used and announced-target figures are excluded.
Median and mean are withheld
One representative price per model
Disclosure by robot type
A model classified into several types counts once in each, so the Tracked column does not sum to the population.

|---|---|---|---|---|
| Robot arms | 14 | 2 (14.3%) | $2,299 – $8,399 | Withheld |
| Quadruped robots | 12 | 2 (16.7%) | $1,600 – $2,700 | Withheld |
| Humanoid robots | 6 | 2 (33.3%) | $4,900 – $13,500 | Withheld |
| Full-size humanoids | 4 | 0 (0.0%) | No public price | Withheld |
| Bipeds | 2 | 0 (0.0%) | No public price | Withheld |
| Wheeled robots | 2 | 0 (0.0%) | No public price | Withheld |
| Social and companion robots | 1 | 0 (0.0%) | No public price | Withheld |

What each field means
Data dictionary
Definitions are the ones the code applies, not a paraphrase of them.
- Tracked model
- A robot record in the
PUBLISHEDstate that also passes the reviewed-evidence gate. Records awaiting source review are excluded from every figure on this page, which is why the population here can be smaller than the database. - Comparable purchase price
- A publicly stated one-time price for a new unit, from an authorized seller, in a single currency, that is not a target, an estimate, an auction result or a RobotCosts figure. This is the only class of price that enters a statistic.
- Representative price
- One price per model, chosen by the same resolver the robot page uses. A model listed by five resellers contributes one number, so reseller density cannot move a median.
- Observed range
- The lowest and highest representative prices actually read, with their observation dates on each robot page. It is a range of readings, not a range a seller quotes.
- Withheld
- The figure is computable but not publishable: fewer than 10 comparable prices support it. “Withheld” means RobotCosts declined to publish it, not that the data is missing.
- Share
- Count divided by the denominator named in that table’s heading, to one decimal place. Type shares use the type’s own tracked count; overall shares use the population.
How to check this
Method, citation and corrections
Method
Every figure is recomputed from the published observation set when this page is requested; nothing here is cached from an earlier reading or entered by hand. Each robot page shows the observations behind its own contribution, including the source document, the territory, the configuration and the date it was read. The resolution rules, the source-priority order and the exclusions are documented in the methodology and the source policy.

Citation

Cite the figure together with its denominator. “6 of 32 tracked models publish a purchase price” is the claim this page supports; “18.8% of robots” is not, because RobotCosts tracks a sample and says so.
Scope and known limits
- The population is what RobotCosts has published, not the robot market. It is weighted toward manufacturers with public English-language documentation.
- Prices are converted from nothing: a figure counted in USD was published in USD. Prices in other currencies are visible on the robot page and excluded from these statistics.
- No downloadable export is offered. Publishing a file implies a licence and a refresh commitment that RobotCosts has not made yet, so the tables above are the citable form.
Corrections
A figure here is wrong only if an observation behind it is wrong, so corrections are made against the robot record rather than the index. Open the robot page, use the correction form on it, and name the source you believe supersedes ours; the index recomputes as soon as the record changes.
